Frequently Asked Questions
Should I eat anything before coming on the tour?
We recommend that you eat a light breakfast before joining us for the tour. The amount of food tasted on the tour is enough for lunch.
Are there vegetarian options?
Yes! In fact, only one of the tasting stops on the tour includes seafood.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, nut allergy, etc.), when you book your tour. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Are there kosher options?
The majority of the food tastings are not guaranteed kosher.
How physically fit do I need to be to enjoy this tour?
Our tours are generally appropriate for all ages and fitness levels, but please use your best judgment. We are on our feet for approximately 2 hours. Be prepared to walk 50 feet up a steep incline. Tastings are on the go and seating opportunities are limited and sporadic.
Do the tours start and end at the same place?
The tours end within a few blocks of the starting point in Pike Place Market.
What happens if it rains?
The tours are held rain or shine. About half of the tour is conducted under cover and half is in open air. You should dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions and bring an umbrella if necessary.
Can I shop on the tours?
We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour so that we can stay on schedule and continue with the informative tour and food tastings in a timely manner. Allow time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite stores and vendors to take advantage of our exclusive "Repeat Visitor" discount card, only available to our tour participants!
Are bathrooms available during the tours?
Yes, bathrooms are available throughout the Market. However, we strongly recommend that you use the facilities before meeting up for the tour, so that we can stay on schedule and maximize our tastings!
Are the tours accessible by baby stroller and wheelchair?
Yes, our tour routes can be modified to be baby stroller friendly. However, please bear in mind that during peak months, the market can be extremely congested. It can be extremely difficult to navigate through the crowds. Unfortunately, with the crowds and tight space in the market, the tours are not wheelchair accessible.
Lastly, please bring a filled reusable water bottle for the tour, as you will be walking and eating for two to three hours. If you are unable to do so water will be available for purchase at the starting location of the tour. Please arrive early to provide enough time to purchase water should you chose to do so.”
